Ok time for the winter build right now my motor is completely stock except for pipe and jetted. Here is what i plan on doing i want to get 11:1 piston, stage 2 cam, new cam chain and valves adjusted. Do you guys think i will see a good power gain with this setup Thanks.:)
Yes, Id suggest you bore to 407cc to make sure your bore is good. My friend has the same kinda setup but a stage 1 cam and likes it alot.

Ok i thought it would be a nice setup for xc
btw if you want a new cam chain, check out the crf 2002 cam chain. Its MUCH cheaper than the oem 400ex chain and stronger-bit thicker as well

I'm running a 407 with a Stage 2 cam and it pulls alot harder than it did stock. You'll notice alot more useable power through the whole rpm band. I'm planning on tearing mine down this winter to re-powdercoat the frame, put on a 450R carb and get a CCP steering stabilizer. Anyway, you'll be very happy with it.

I highly recomend the ccp steering stabalizer.... so Nice!!! And were would i take my motor to have it bored would i take it to my local shop and have them have someone do it or take it to a machine shop?
You just need to take the jug the cylinders in and the piston to any machine shop really. Most dealers can also tell you who does it locally as well.

Either way really. As long as they know what they are doing. I took mine to my local shop and they do it all in house. If your local shop has to send it off I'd just take it to a machine shop. Skip the middle man.
