couple of things to try. Crack open the drain on the carb and make sure you are getting gas. If your getting gas then check for spark. If you not getting gas then make sure your vent tube isn't clogged.

Let me know what you find.

remove the hose from the airbox to the carb. Put some gas in a spray bottle and spray a small amount into the carb. If it hits then you have carb problems. If it doesn't then you need to check compresion.

If it's the carb the first thing you want to check in the needle. The are bad about slipping out of the holder on a 300ex. They will drop all the way through and be sticking trought the main into the bowl.

let me know what you find.

Sound's like it jumped time.If you have spark and sprayed gas straight into the motor and it didn't hit.Sound's like a timing chain problem.

noh check the compression. Running that K&N you might have eaten the rings up. K&N is fine for road vechicles but they let way to much dirt through for off road. I run Uni.

If it jumped time then it would either be real hard to turn over or no compression and turns over really fast. Just pull the spark plug and check to see if you have compression.
