Or do you mean has anyone had a port and polish done while running the stock carb?

Would it even be possible? The inside of the carb is already damn near smooth as glass. Wouldn't think you'd gain a thing from doing it.

yes, boring it. Same thing as porting. Just slighly increase the diameter and give it a taper. I had it done on my truck Throttle body and it was a good increase for cheap.

i think if you had a dremel you could bore it out a couple .001's and get good flowas long as you rejet and smooth over the ruff :D jmo

You can't bore a carb with a barrel slide... Only flat slide carbs, ie FCR carb.

Bump the thread, I'd like to see it... From what I understand boring a round barrel carb leaves gaps at the sides of the "throat" where the slide makes contact... If its possible I'll send my carb to work with my father... He's been a precision machinist longer than I've been around.

Just spend the money on a FCR!. There is a guy over at KTMATVHQ.com that bores out FCR carbs from 39 to 41,42,43 MM. for 150.00 ish I believe. Also, leave the porting to the pros. They have the machines and technology to do it.

i have tapered the bore from the slide to the motor side,by hand and left a little rough, not polished.this was done on a d slide 250r carb. it was done with other mods so i dont know if there was gains from this
