This quad looks really nice but I can't imagine spending well over $6000. for a bone stock bike, unless your going to put in in a museum.

Wow.

After looking for a pretty stock 250R over the last year, prices for un-modded ones have been on the rise for sure...at least on ebay. Never saw one climb that high though!

I don't think the birders were planning on riding it much. I think the price was just about right.

Good to see. Looks like the winner has high feedback so DQ should get paid.

Makes the all stock 88 i picked up Tuesday seem like a steal.

troybilt was offered $5k in Waynoka for his, I told him he should have countered but I don't think he's ever going to sell it. I agree with Honda5, it was about right.

The one on eBay was clean, hardly ridden. I don't think they come cleaner these days.

I plan on it, needs cleaned up to make it look right but still has the stock bars, key, and exhaust. Wish it was as clean as this 89 is, but this was an Alabama 88 not a Cali dune only R.

I would agree the $6k seems about, but the value is just only going to go up, like my 69 firebird that I kick myself for selling... If I new the dude at the dunes was serious I might have countered, its hard to tell when a random dude on a XP900 drives up at the drag strip when I'm just sitting there watching rsss396 make a few passes. He got out looked it all over and asked if I'd take 5 for it... who knows if he was serious or not.. $5k wasn't too far off on mine. Mine is not a museum piece by any means. Its a strong running stock bike that is a blast to ride, and I build it to ride as well as be a conversation piece.

I was just using your example as a reference point, wasn't trying to tell you to sell it. I personally would never sell it, it's a very nice bike and runs great.

Did you guys see the other near stock 88's and 89's pop up on eBay overnight? I think dquarton did good, he's an honest seller and a great guy to deal with.

I'm not sure, but once you say that it does sound right. I love those 250R "Gods". LOL!

They are on my watch list...

Somebody set me straight if I'm off here, but if memory serves me, pretty sure "dirt factory" is in Cali.
Scotty the "godess" is in Michigan.
Bought from both..... WAY sunnier in California!

Your all correct, Scott is sajcorvette and he is up in N. Michigan. Has a real bad rep for selling clapped out POS and listing them as mint OEM bikes, and weird payment plans, kinda shady stuff!!

Dale Q from the West Coast (dirtfactory) on the other hand is a very knowledgable guy and great to deal with on his 250R parts, always describes stuff very well and post good pics!

I agree, the sunset is prettier on the west coast. He is a member on here, good guy for sure. I'm not sure about the other seller troybilt mentioned though...

Thanks guys, I really appreciate all the kind words. I am trying to preserve the good bikes I come across and not part them. It is nice to see them going to collectors that will keep them as is! I was actually pretty surprised that the 89 went to the price it did, and to a paying buyer!! I was expecting around $4-5K....

Looks like others saw the price it went for and think they'll cash in while there seems to be a market.

That one looks nice, but like our friend the 250R God, it seems that these people are taking pictures with a disposable 1 megapixel camera. This girls seems pretty legit, but Scott's pics seem to be intentionally 'shady'.....
