$500 elka, works or other?

Hey guys I only have around $500 to spend on shocks. What do you think the best shock for the money is? And who has the best price.

My 2 main choices right now are.. Elka -triple, non rezzie or Works -triple with rezzie.

The Works shocks would be about $30 less for me because they are sold locally, from Magics Racing.

Or anyother shock you suggest? I like TCS but don't know where to get them for a good price.

Rec., woods, and sand dunes. I might try a XC race this yr.

I hit jumps alot but ussually not big jumps. My biggest jump was once about 12-15' in high and I was wondering 'WTH am I doing up here':) other than that I only get about 6' of air..

thats 6' in height, I don't know how far lenght wise, would guess maybe 20'.

Elka's are gonna handle alot better.....but having ressies on there during long rides might make up for the less plush ride of the works...


I"ve owned both types of shocks and was happy with both.. Flip a coin and get back to us on what you bought...;)

im in this kinda debate right now too, i dont have the money yet, but i know when i wont be able to afford elkas with rezzies. And im not sure about works. But im pretty sure i have to get rezzies either way. Because at my last race my stock shocks were completley useless after about and hour. What about some used ohlins from a blaze, they fit dont they, and once in a while i see some on ebay.

for around $700 you can get Deresi shocks with rezzi's.The differance between them and my works is night and day.Wish i had waited.

yea those ones on ebay are nice but they're gone now :(

just keep checkin back on ebay, i picked up a set of triple rate tcs w/ ressies and zps for $470 shipped, i havent tried them out yet so i can't let you know how they perform
