[300EX]

What would you guys do if you had a 300EX. Put a cam and a little higher com. piston (but still pump gas) , or buy a 400EX? I ride with a 400 and I'm always behind I'm tired of it :grr I at least just want to hang with him accel. I know theres nothing I can do for top end other then gearing. Thanks

Well... I bought a 400ex and kept my 300ex!:D

Seriously though, if you feel that you have outgrown your 300, I would recommend the 400. The 400 does not have reverse, and is a little bit more money, but those are the only negatives I can come up with. The suspension, handling, jumping, quickness, and speed of the 400 is better than the 300. The 300 is a great machine, but to put money into it to keep up to the speed of a 400ex may cause you to loose control in the handling department.

There is night and day riding characteristics between the two. If you really like your 300, like I still do, it may make sense to "soup it up" some.:)

Note: I still love my "souped up" 300ex, but now that I am getting older, the suspension on the 400 really helps me.
