new and old 400ex

What parts from the older 400exs like 04 and down will fit a 08 new 400ex?

every thing exept plastics, i belive

externally just the fenders, gears tooth amount wise, and light. the bottom end has different internals due to reverse and lower gearing in the new ones. cdi is different also since it includes stuff for reverse in the newer ones.

the rest is the same though.

yes the 450r rear shock will work

front and rear shocks (fronts require minor modifications), handlebars, levers, rims, front bumper (i think), carb if you've done a lot of motor work, brakes should swap across too, but never tried it so not for sure.

Plastics will fit, just needs some fab work, mainly a front bracket

They changed the spline pattern on the counter shaft spocker in 05. The front spocket is different on the 04 to 05 and beyond.
