I got my higher compression piston, gaskets, cam, etc. from C&D Racing. I am having great experiences with my kit... But I only went with a 10.8 to 1 compression.

Good luck!

BTW... What size bore are you going with? If you don't know yet, there are a few "threads" on this forum that have been of great help to me to decide.

FYI... C&D Racing's phone number is 308-696-7805

This 400ex will NEVER be on a track.... We ride just about everything are rarely go to a track (maybe once every year when
they are closed for photo shoots).....

I would say most of it's life will be on the trails...We do alot of hill climbing and such..

I am sorry if I misslead you. If you were intimidated by the name C&D Racing... Please don't be.

They are very helpful for us trail riding guys and gals too! In fact, Dusty (the "D" in C&D) trail rides with her machine.

Just because they have "racing" in their name, does not mean they are strictly for racers.

Seriously though, don't hesitate calling C&D and get a feel for yourself. Let them know that you too are an average trail riding rider that is looking to hop up your 400 with some more power and were considering a higher compression piston for trail riding.
:)

I am sorry if I went off subject here.

Anyway, good luck!:)

Don't worry about it, I never took it that way... I have actually dealt with Colby before and both of them were very helpful...
I actually purchased some Houser Long travel arms, and Elka 19" shocks for my raptor....

But I just wanted everyone to know that I won't be revvvvvvvvvving my 400ex to the moon so that wouldn't be an issue....

I am looking for a good tractable power spread, nothing peaky. I come from riding a banshee a few years and learned to hate the peaky horsepower.
