So I just recently got back from the Sand dunes, and my friend had a new 2008 Kawasaki Kfx 450r with a programmer air filter and dasa pipe, and it would freaking rip! He could get at the bottom of a hill dead stop, drop the clutch in 3rd or 4th and just fly up the hill and pull up the front end. So I'm wondering if you jetted put a pipe and air filter on a Trx 450r it would have the same result powerwise? Like this http://tulsa.craigslist.org/mcy/2678328475.html Sorry for the long story, Thanks!

Yes, especially if you open up the air box by either running the HRC lid, drilling holes in the stock lid, or not running a lid at all. Taking the lid off, throwing a pipe on, and rejetting was always the first thing I did when I would get a new wheeler.

I've been reading online and people are saying only like 33 hp which is bull.

The 04/05 first generation Hondas had 33 HP stock

The newer 06+ came with 40HP stock

You'll notice a pretty good difference with no airbox, a good pipe, and the carb rejetted. I ran a CP 12.5:1 piston, no airbox, and a Dasa for 2-3 years and never had a situation where I wanted more power. Well maybe needed would be a better word, I always want more power ha

how was ur friends *** after riding? :D those kfx's have the hardest seats ever

get a good pipe, no lid, foam filter, cam and piston. get it jetted right also. you should be happy with that for along while

Personally, best bang for your buck is the HRC kit. Makes a huge difference, and still looks stock.

a 02 crf cam, pipe, and air filter and jetting might cost alittle more but its worth it having the aftermarket exhuast

^^^x2 im doing a 12:5:1 piston ,cam , full pipe ,uni , rejet and should rip. i rode a 450r with a pipe (full fmf)uni ,rejet and thats it and it pulled realy hard so you can imagine what a cam and piston will do add some head word and youl have a monster pump gas setup
