i have to disagree about the hotrods cranks mine is 3 yrs old and gets abused severly with zero issues in an 06 high compression
my practice machine is a 04 motor that had the main bearing problem from factory i replaced mains with honda parts and have beat it relentlessly for 6yrs no problems
quality assembly and oil changes as always

I havent had any main bearing failures in the past 6 seasons with my TRX's or any of the ones i build. I have had several failures of the big end rod bearing on OEM cranks, non were premature. IMO, a bearing will eventually fail at some point and with all the heat and abuse and high RPM's that we run at i consider 40 hrs a normal time for anything to happen really. If you are having problems with your main bearings you might want to make sure your cases arent bad. If they are not pressing in tight into the cases then they will walk and spin causing problems
