Hey guys check out the start of a new project. Here's some pics of my next build the LRD Attitude build. Here's the link http://s979.photobucket.com/albums/ae274/543215196/LRD%20Atiitude%20build/ So enjoy these pics I have some more red weave carbon fiber from FourWerx on the way. I just need to get some shocks now!!! I'm thinking Fox Evol or maybe the AXIS air shocks. We'll see, 1st a gotts make sure that the Protrax frontend is gonna clear everything! Thanks Higgy!

Here's some of that red weave Carbon fiber from FourWerx, Sick Huh!!!

http://i979.photobucket.com/albums/ae274/543215196/LRD%20Atiitude%20build/LrdAttidudebuild007.jpg
A pic of the frame. I'm just starting to mount the frontend up making sure everything clears ok. That protrax frontend tierods, seem to hit the A-arm mounting tabs or at least the head of the Allen bolts that will hold the A-arms to the frame. So I think I'm gonna have to countersink the heads of the bolts for clearance!

Just another shot of the frontend!! This is gonna be another tough build. Anyone ever put a protrax frontend on an LRD frame?? Someone had to have tried it back in the day?? Anyway enjoy these, Thanks Higgy!

Your shocks will top out and keep the tie rods from hitting the a arm bolts once you get them.

Gonna be an awesome build! Those LRD frames are a work of art! I ran one of Arlens 350 PV motors on the Attitude chassis in Open A GNC MX and it had to be one of the best rides I ever had!! Best of luck, lookin forward to seein your progress!!

Guy310: I kinda thought that would be the case, but I wasn't sure! I was still a little concerned. My lobo didn't have this issus at all! That I can remember. Yeah I definately need SHOCKS! lol! Thanks Higgy!

I had a pro trax on an attitude frame. I had no issues with clearance or things hitting/binding. Like was said above, once you get shocks on it, it should be fine.

Hey bud,
Its always cool when I meet another person on the forum thats from P-town! I've already met 3 guys on here! We've been helping each other out during bike builds and have gone ridding a couple of times too. The Lobo I've been working on has been my main project, but its almost complete so I've started to put this beast together. The chromer's gonna be happy to see me again lol! These bike builds are addictive. I eventually wanna have an LED motor built by Arlen to go in this frame. I think that would be a sick combo! Anyway it would be cool to hook up sometime and see ur build! Thanks Higgy!

Did you get mounts with those shock covers or are you making your own mounts? Very nice start!

Higgy87TRX425
10-27-2011, 03:24 PM
When I buy shocks I'm gonna get ahold of Jay at Fourwerx Carbon fiber and he's gonna suppy the shock mounts for whatever shocks I get. I believe he has mounts for most aspplications! I just ordered Red Weave radiator shrouds and Mastercylinder cover! I can't wait this is gonna be a sick build!! Thanks Higgy!

I'm Stoked, most of the major parts are on the way for this build. Axis Pro-Airs to start! ! The motor is in the shop now, but I've gotta get my cases polished 1st before I can get it back to Pete. I think that I'm gonna chrome the quickchange cover too. So most of the major parts are already in the works, hopefully it will be pulled off by spring. I'll have some up dates and fresh pics after this weekend. The red merrell hubs from Dustin just showed up to, so I'll be able to do some work on her this weekend. Gotta come up with a name for the project too??

I'd also like to see what people have done to mount there gas tanks and how then mounted the front seat brackets for the gromets to hold onto as well. There's definately gonna be some fab work done on this bike, probably a new rear swinger, and a longer +2 or +3 steering stem for the Protrax frontend. Then its time to "bring the bling", lol!! Thanks Higgy!

I know that this is a bad shot of the hubs, but it was the only one that I could find to post. The front Duncan bumper sure looks SICK though!! I'm piecing together parts and just got the line and slave cylinder so I'll have a Hydraulic clutch on this bike as well!! With a few parts on the way and a few more to buy we're getting close to mocking this whole thing up! So I can then send everything off to Powdercoat, poloish and the Chromer!! AWE yeah lovin the BLING!!! Thanks Higgy!

11-07-2011, 07:09 PM
Nice, work man!Dig the bumper and the hubs.I just spent the weekend putting on my a arms, front shocks, bolt kit in motor, and motor in frame. If i could only figure out how to put the pictures from my phone to this damn computer.

Higgy87TRX425
11-07-2011, 07:31 PM
I bought this device from sony which will read all memory cards. if you have a mini SD card in your phone then save the photos to that. The you'll need to get the Adapter which allows you to install the mini SD card from your phone into the SD card adapter. You then put this in the card reading device which transposrts all the pics to your computer and then you name them and they're saved in the picture section on your computer! I knoe that it sounds confusing, but its realy easy! Thanks Higgy!

So heres a link to some fresh pics of my weekend of POLISHING!!! I tackled my engine cases this weekend. For 2 reasons, one is because I'm impatient and didn't wanna wait the time it takes to send it out to be polished! Sencondly, I wanted to see how hard of a job it was? Well take my word for it, it a pain in the BUTT! It takes alot of Patience which I just told you I'm lacking. However this is technically my third weekend of sanding on them so I kinda got to take my time. See what you think?? http://s979.photobucket.com/albums/ae274/543215196/LRD%202/
I know there's definately room for improvement, but I'm not so sure that I wanna take the time to make those improvements?? Thanks Higgy!

Johnny Five: It was hard enough doin my own! If I ever decide to do another set I'll be sending them out. Way too much work!! Thats at least 10hrs and they could look alot better. I even used trick homemade sanding wheel that Pumashine showed me how too make!! Still too much work, lol! Well at least there done for now! Thanks Higgy!

Well its a Pain in butt, However I wanted to bling out the whole motor. It will look good you'll be glad you did it! I have a Duncan quickchange cover that I'm gonna chrome, with an Annodized Red Duncan cover and Red Merrell waterpump cover! I think that the red highlights will make it look sick! The stator cover will be a Polished Nac's cover. I'm redoing a PSI 425 topend that I blew up last spring. I'm thinking about stroking the motor as well. It should run FAST!!! I've got some work to do though!! I gotta get those cases to the shop, this week!! Give it a month or so and I'll have some more pics of this motor up!! Thanks Higgy!!

Then the left side, I think They look pretty good! There's a few small gaps and some cutting that needs to be done before I put on the graphics, but not to hard considering they only fought me for about 2 hrs.
Thanks Higgy!

I don't know if it was planned, but I live the contrast of this build to the last one. Warm red/gold vs cool blue/chrome.

I know you bought it like that, but is there any chance you know what color the powder is on the frame?

Hey guys I'm not sure of the Color of gold on the bike. I think I bought the bike skyshredder if I remembering correctly. He was the guy that powdercoated gold. After I bought it, I decided to keep the gold. It kinda grew on me, plus I couldn't stand to waste a perfectly good powdercoat job. If was was gonna repaint it any color it would be done a candy red. Close to the color of the Red annodizing.
The plastic was a bit of a tight fit it's Maier OEM replacement plastic. I'm gonna have to cut the front part of the rear plastic right where it connects to the front plastic, because one side of it hits the front plastic. Then I had to kinda strecth the plastic to get the the front bolts in where the seat is bolted to the plastic in the front so that they stay as one piece. Then in the rear I bought an aftermarket Billet alum. Seat mount. You have to push on it alittle bit, but it slides together. Eventually!!!
Thanks Higgy!!

Thanks Higgy! I still havnt figured on how to put pictures on this damn computer.I took some pictures with my i phone, uploaded them to the computer, but when i try to put them on this web site under attachments, some error pops up.Anyway,im kind of at a standstill.Lack of money for the time being.I have the motor which is fresh, took the cylinder over to Arlan for some port work.I have a set of 3+1 chrome a-arms from laeger on front.a set of fox long travel evols on.Some 400 ex spindles. And thats all i have thats mounted.I have a chrome swinger that im still waiting on from laegar, and a rear pep im waiting on from baldwin.Thats about where i sit with my build. At least until after christmas, when i have a little more doe.

They make engine holders that are sik, some are just to hold the engine others have bases to mount to work on engine,
Top notch quality

Yeah, thats funny I was just on Pumashine's site the other day. I bought a 15 tooth case saver from him and it arrived the next day!!
He's located in Eugene. Great guy!!I've been to his shop to meet with him personally about some custom parts that I wanted to have made. He was super cool and built me a couple of one off parts for my Lobo, a rear clain slider bracket, a radiator cover, a round tube coil mount and I also bought a polished stainless steel and an aluminum engine stand from him. You won't find a guy more into 250r's or a better guy to do business with!! If he makes it, it will fit and work perfectly and normally be polished to perfection. He stands behind everything he makes and is a hellva nice guy. If you're looking for a dress up kit you can't go wrong dealing with Tony!
The stator cover is pretty easy to polish up yourself, the clutch cover well that a whole other operation, there's alot of areas that are hard to reach, its best to leave that to the pro's!! I like the quick change covers better myself. I like the oldskool quickchange covers, but you can get an ESR Brand new right now for $199. Just a thought??

If you wanna post pic's to the threads use Photobucket and download the photos through them. Then you're able to click on the Photos individually and go back and forth between the thread and the album in Photobucket to post them on a thread. Thats how I do it!
Thanks Higgy!

I just take it one part at a time. That way its done right and every part turns out the best it can. I pick one part that needs to be polished up and spend the weekend polishing it. Or if its fitting plastics on the bike I take that one piece at a time. That way everything turns out the best it can, Its hard not to rush it, but that way its more forfilling to build it like that!! Thanks for the compliment.

What can I say I'm a polishing nut!! If you looki at the photos of the before shot of the carrier you can see what it looked like. I basically sanded the parts that you can see when its in the swingarm and then it looked like the previous owner had to pound on the carrier to get it out of the swingarm, so I sanded the rough parts where it looked like it had gotten caught up in the swingarm. Then I polished those areas with the hopes that it wouldn't get stuck in the swingarm again. I didn't spend alot of time on those areas believe me, but its tough to stop when you get started!!1 I wanted to make it a little loose to keep it from getting stuck again!! Call it preventative maintance, lol!! Its all gotta Bling, ha ha! Didn't you know? I've got the sickness?? I thought that it was common knowledge by now! lol! Anyway thats why, have a great Holiday buddy!

ma91a, I agree, and thank you! I have a PSI 425, but pistons are a month or more out and their notorious for blowing up! I only got 2 rides on the motor before she went! So I'm still deciding to either fix the 425 cylider or get ahold of Arlen. I gotta get on it pretty quick because it should be a roller by this weekend! As long as I get my axle back tomarrow, if not then early next week! I gotta pony up and make the call here soon!! I just got a bunch of chrome back and my RED Tank cover refinished by LEW JR. and it looks sick!! thanks LEW!!

That rear shock still needs to be rebuilt too, so I have to sent it off as well! I have another for the time being though! Its just hard jumping from one project to another, do I spend the money on finishing the LRD Project or my numerous other projects IE Sabertooth motor! lol! I just wanna go fast!!! I think that the LRD is gonna come first! Enuff said.
Thanks Higgy

First off thanks for the compliments!
Meat & Mineralgrey01gt: I ride in the dunes mostly. I'm really just gettin back into it after about a 10 years off. I used to race moto-x and push my Honda Cr125r and Honda CR250r to the limit in the dunes! I about wrecked myself a few times so I decided to switch over to a safer form of the sport and stay a little closer to the ground! I still wanna haul *** though so thats why I'm building the Hillshooter style bikes. When the current projects are finished up, I'm gonna get to work on that Sabertooth motor and maybe do some drags??
The handlebars are Tag Hart & Hunington Dirtbike bars I liked the color scheme! The goldon them fit with the RED & GOLD for the LRD Project. Now I just have to get a longer steering stem? Or I have another set of FastFlexx bars that I was thinking of Polishing up and putting on? I think that they'll sit a little higher? We'll see just like the motor still kinda contemplating what to do?? Whatta you guys think I should run??
OHHHHH I got my axle back today so as soon as I'm finished moving everything I'm gonna repolish up the sproket hub because they nicked it up when they were pressing it on. They said that they had to use a 50 ton press to get that new HUB on there, probably becasue of the fresh chrome on the axle!!!! Damm!
Thanks Higgy!

You guys don't need to try and push my buttons, when you know that I've got a twist throttle thats always pinned!! The gas cap is on the wish list, or should I say build/buy list. Its not that high on the list though. Thats gonna be a annodized Red Project321 Gas Cap! Commin on you guys know me better then that, its commin, just after a few things that the project needs a little more!!!
Thanks Higgy

dtowndiesel: Ok Sorry, I've been using the Camera on my phone. So I'll either use my girls I-phone camera or borrow one. I've been kinda lagging on the work on my bike cause we just moved into a new place! However, I finally have a garage!! I just have to move my current project over here. I have too much crap for this single bay garage though. So its one project at a time for now!
Thanks Higgy

Nice looking ride congrats.
And if you guys want to praise and glorify Arlen then please at least spell his name correctly.
ARLAN <-- it's AN not EN

And I agree Arlan is the man. Happy as hell I can drive 10 minutes and get the worlds best BAR NONE 250R service.
Arlan built my Sphynx and it makes super killer torque and peak power.

She shill needs a little more polish, but the chrome on the clutchside turned out pretty dam good I think! I wish that cast aluminum polished up as well as billet does! You can clearly see the difference when you switch between the 2 pics. The Nacs cover is just polished like the cases. It looked so good after I was done I decided not to chrome it!
Thanks Higgy!

Well after finally deciding on which motor to go with I chose an LED 350 Sphynx motor reported to produce 65hp after being Dyno tuned. You don't wanna know the cost , but heres a photo of her all blinged out, ain't she pretty! Thats 65 Hp with that light aluminum frame and the bare essensials on the bike should make it a pretty nasty motor, lol!
So check it out sorry for the glare there was just alot of sun comming into the garage yesterday we got the whole motor and pipe installed after over comming a few obsticles in 1 day, with the help of a good friend!

is Higgy all right???

Motofool250r
03-11-2013, 05:34 AM
350 is a great motor but even better is a 330 +4MM stroker for a true size of 344cc (same size as 350 but has more low end torque)

With low port timing will be like tractor power
