Hi all,

Haven't been here forever. 2006 400ex. Pulled it out the shop to run the gas out. A few minutes into riding it the rear locked up. Question does the factory chain have a master link? I looked all over it and didn't see one. I'm 99% sure the carrier bearings have gone south. Even a pic of the ML would be helpful. Chain is dirty but not enough that I would not be able to see it.

Thanks Dave

Pretty sure it has one on it.. Clean the hell out of the chain and look for it. It might be on the inside of the chain.. Worst case is loosen the bolts up, roll the carrier in so that the chain loosens up enough to pop it off over the sprocket

Stock chain does not have a master link. You will probably have to grind a pin down to remove it.

My stock chain had no master... grind it... or a hammer and screwdriver if you are replacing it..

Thanks for the help. I'm going to clean the chain and give her one more look. Then I pull put the die grinder.
