Thinking of buying a 2003 660 but the guy that has it for sale says it run but it runs like **** and he told me its the timing is out of time it has been pipe and jetted i dont know a lot about 660 so looking for some ideas what it would be

Could be carbs not tuned right.

ok well now it runs like **** all the time and the longer you ride it the pipe get super hot i went and rode it last night

Diffently sounds lean!! Does it backfire alot? Most people dont rejet after adding a exhaust.

No it does not he said someone told you him it was the timing up out of time but i dont know if it is worth trade a 400ex for it

its nearly impossible to screw up the timing on a 660. It has an automatic timing chain tensioner and they rarely wear out enough for the chain to skip a tooth on the cam. it has to be the jetting/dirty carb
