I just got a 99 Turbo AWD Volvo. Needs a little work it was crashed from the last person drifting it. Soon as it hits 4000rpm it studders and wont go any higher. Whats that from?

And I need to replace one the rear axels. Im probably going to make it rwd. Would one the axels from in front work in the rear?

And from what I read I can bump the boost up to 17psi safe with out needing to mod any thing or tune. Im just going to buy a $20 mechanical boost controler off ebay. I have no clue how to hook it up and how do I know what boost im running will the mechanical boost controler some how say on it?

You can here it studering sounds kind of like rev limiter but its only 4000rpm

What I can remember is that a Volvo S/V70 97-00 can not rev more than 4000 rpm at idle. But I am not 100% sure.

I'm not a Volvo expert but I would be willing to bet the front axles will not fit in the rear. And it does sound like your whackin a rev limiter. Check online somewhere as to bump it up or get rid of it.

Thats an electronic limiter, perhaps you can bypass it somehow (not sure).

I doubt the rear axles and fronts will swap. It is possible in some cases to remove the drive axles on some awd cars and just leave it rwd-but this is the type of thing a volvo forum would know.

That thought came to my mind.
