parts cleaner???

I am doing my 1st 250r overhaul and was wondering what everyone uses to clean parts that are coming off your quads? I tried using a brake cleaner at 1st but it ended up taking the paint along with the greese and oil from the parts. Any suggestions? Sorry i am a newb, for sure.

Mineral spirits(paint thinner) or diesel fuel

Kerosene is a little cheaper and cleaner than diesel. Every garage needs a nice parts cleaner tank, they're so damn handy. They're great for cleaning foam air filters and outerwears. I bot my parts cleaner at Tractor Supply about a year ago and don't have any problems to report. I use it all the time too.
