does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix the threads on on the case part of oil drain bolt without tearing the motor apart

if its the one on the bottom drill it with a 25/64 drill bit and tap it to 7/16 and your good as new :D

so i dont need to tear the complete motor down?

^^ ohh i have lol:D lets just say if it can be broke or striped ive fixed it at one time or another lol and no OP i dident tear the motor down just put grease on the drill bit to catch the shavings and leave the bolt out and poor cheap oil through it to rinse the rest out

yea make sure you use grease on the bit and the tap and flush cheap oil through a couple times and you can fix it with everything together

Drain the motor oil. Flush out the case with mineral spirits. Drill and tap as suggested. Flush with mineral spirits, again. Install new filter and oil, change after a short ride. Good luck!:)

please post year and where bolt is located
if its an 06 up and is the trans bolt it isnt easy!

Yes it is a 06 and up motor! And it is the hard bolt to get to that's behind the chain!

well all other post's here do not apply!

i am sure a talented mechanic could get a helicoil in there but all the tools would be extended ie drill ,tap and heli install tool

what the problem is there is that the dead soft aluminum washer was not replaced and after a few times they get smashed and harder and the thread starts giving at your predetermined torque
new washers and a torque wrench!

PS. the crankcase oil plug has the same style washer

im not a honda tech
but the areas biggest honda dealer is my sponsor and they make a point to keep me up with fresh washers!

this is a often overlooked part of reassembly, and causes many stripped holes:scary:
