stock fronts are 42

my rears stock with 11" wide tires is like 48 or 49 or so. not an exact measurement, but its about right because when pros run 4+ axles they also run narrower tires.
dont pros run 9 inch wide tires? not sure how wide theirs are

11 inch wide holeshots with my +4 axle only measures 49 1/2. with my 9.5 wide turf tamers measures 49. so i don't think stock would measure 49 inches with 11 inch wide tires unless you got some wheel spacers.

Hello guys:

The pros run different setups based on what they are riding, and the conditions.

Heres how it is most of the time;

Good track & a 2 stroke motor, and they will run 9" wide tires in the back. Thats because the 9" has a smaller contact area, and they will dig down into the loose stuff a little better. I have seen them do this in the rain quite often also.

4 stroke guys often run the 11" wide tires in back. They already have extra weight for traction, and they are using a 4 stroke motor which hooks up better in most conditions.

As for width, don't get your quad overly wide. The probelm is when your wheelbase is "square" the quad will not track as well in the rough stuff. You don't really need to be 50". Get your quad in the 48 / 49" range. You want the quad to be a little longer than it is wide. It will definitley track better through the whoops that way. 50" is only the AMA rule, and now some of the a-arm builders are coming up with all kinds of gimmicks to get you there, but it means nothing, especially if you are all over the track. Most builders don't ride very often, but they sell everyday. I would rather have a set of +2 arms than anything else. If you want to experiment beyond that, try different rims. You have more options that way. Lets face it, everyone can corner fairly well, but you can beat guys through the whoops. If you're going straight and the other guys is hopping around, you can pass him. Thats the goal

Talk to you later!

Which 440 do you mean? The Cannondale moto 440?

Part of the reason the Cannondale turns a little quicker than the 400EX is because of kingpin inclination. The Cannondale spindle assembley was at the same angle as the 250R, which is 4 degrees less than the 400EX or the Suzuki. That means the CDale and the 250R were designed to turn a little more precise and quicker, but the EX and Suzuki might be a little more stable sometimes. Like if you caught a tree with the front wheel the EX & Suzuki might be a little less inclined to rip the bars out of your hands.
