05 450r wont shift up gears

looking at buying an 05 450r and the bike will not shift up gears. u have to pull the shifter all the way up tap it down just a hair then pull up again to engage the gear. what is the problem? easy fix? expensive? looking for quick answers

its shifts down perfectly fine tho its primarily gears 3-4-and 5

Sounds like bent shift forks. Not fully engaging one way, yet easily disengaging as it's downshifted. You'll be splitting the cases to get to them. Unless you're looking for a project bike, pass and find another.

It could just be a spring but, that's a longshot you will probably be splitting the cases. If you are not interested in it let me know. I'm always looking for that kind of quads.
