I just got my front triple rate tcs shocks in the mail, they have zps, when I was lookin at them I noticed there are 2 collars under the top zps spring, and none under the middle spring

are there suppose to be collars under both?

I'll take a pic in a few minutes

Is that the first "real" spring??? Can we see a pic of the whole shock? Where did u buy those at? I have a buddy very interested in those exact shocks.

well unless u want the ZPS setup to work, thats wrong. The crossovers will put pressure on the main spring which will keep the ZPS from working. Changing the crossovers is mainly used to help keep them from diving in the turns.

isnt that how you control how much sag there is? you take them out and it sags more add them in and it cant compres as much

yeah ide say the person who had them b4 didnt really know what they were doing, OR they had a BIG problem with the front end diving in turns. I would find out how it came from TCS and set it back to there. Then make adjustments. that just doesnt seem right to me.

yeah that person is kinda screwy but that isnt the only way to adjust the ride height/sag. you thread that top ring up toward the top of the shock to lower the bike more. the crossover rings control how much travel that spring uses. (more crossovers the less that spring can compress which will give you a lot more stiff travel on the main spring and in your case also on the second tender spring. i would atleast put some crossovers in the middle spring there or else you will have a pretty bumpy ride probably through little stuff like small ruts or whoops.

Go to K&K's site and check out the pictures they have of TCS shocks. Those crossovers are not right that's for sure. I agree with Extreme...

ok i'm def. gonna put a crossover in the middle spring, does anyone know who to do this? I'm thinkin about screwing the top ring up to the top then just go from there

you can either loosen the top nut. Or u can take the clip off the bottom of the shock by turning the shock upside down, pushing on the bottom plate, and removing the clip. then just slide the springs off and reinstall the crossover where u desire.

you will have to loosen the preload nut at the top to take pressure of the bottom piece then take it out. the take your springs off the bottom of the shock and adjust your rings.

those shocks came direct from TCS and are unaltered in any way. they are TCS SCS shocks, sag control series set up for GP racing

although i think that is a screwy set up the best thing to do is try them out and adjust them if they dont feel right. its always better to try something before changing it.
