Did some decent riding yesterday, out of the other bikes, I was one of the few that didn't have a issue at all, even with out of spec valves.. Buddies 450r just would not run rite almost all day, other buddies ltz400 had issues dieing, getting stuck in reverse mode, the one banshee overheated, kept randomly dropping a cylinder.. It was a solid 6 hours of riding, I beat on the bike pretty good also.. I knew there was a reason I sold the 450 and kept my old 400.. Not to mention through out the trails, I was stomping on the other bikes, could stay with them throughout most of the blasts down the power lines.. :D Only thing I have to do is adjust the front shocks as I was bottoming out on alot of jumps

When I bought my 400ex I could have gotten a a 450r but chose the 400ex cause everyone I talked to said that they were a great woods machine. Just got done boring it to a 426 with 10 to 1 compression and a stage 2 HotCam which was all ready in it. I use a GPS to keep track of our mileage. It was time to rebuild after 17000 miles. Its a 05 model and I wouldn't have no other. Still pleased today of it preformance.

This is why i chose a 400ex over a 450 too. They sure take a beating and don't show it.

I love these things...I used to ride a 87 lt250r two stroke and always broke down. This 400 is my first 4 stroke and it is awesome! Lots of torque and great handling. I ride at busco beach in NC and pound the hell out of this thing and cant break it!!! Best machine I ever owned!!!
