whats the official word on it? iv heard it does and it doesnt some people say you have to take off the your collar that your sprocket is attached to.. cant come to a final yes or no awnser........ any help?

I have a 400ex axle in my 450r. If that helps any. And before anyone starts harrassing me y i have a 400 axle in a 450. I put my 450 together from nothing. Yeah bought frame motor and all the other stuff. only cost me about $1600. and i had a 400ex axle laying around

i am pretty sure that i saw someone say, that if you use a 450r swinger + bearing carrier then it will work, but i havent really heard an official word either.

You should be using the corresponding carrier and swingarm.

The carriers between the 400ex and the 450R are different lengths. Anyone who is using said axle in the opposite machine and always tells me it works, can never give me an answer on where the extra 1/8" went to...

I'm in the party that says it wont work, even though I know people are doing it. I know people that put shocks on machines that don't belong there too. Just cause it bolts up doesn't always mean it works.
