get that thing breathing well and it will make more power. porting the motor will help that stg.2 cam get even more air, gas, in and out of the motor. if you have the money or the knowledge do it. i have the same mods to mine minus the exhaust and like it. :D

^^ X2.

bore doesnt matter. The 11:1 compression does 3x more then a 426 with a stock piston.. P&P is NEVER not worth doing.

Depends on where you want your power to come on. The more material you take off, the higher in the rpm range the power will move.

Think of it this way,,,,,,rap your self up tight with some cloth's,,,,then get out and run.... you will find that it is hard to breath.... then do the same with lose cloth's......you will be able to run better and longer cuz you can finly breath.....lol word of the wise.....will this pass steve? lol

ported mine with a dremmel tool and polished with light sandpaper. prolly not as good as some flo bench work done by a pro. but it's still a noticeable improvement. but i'd suggest sending it to a pro for best results. :D

I had my ported, they ported the intake, an just cleaned the exhaust, if you port the exhaust too much you will loose unless your going really big bore an such. LRD, an others told me the same thing. Porting is good for just about everything IMHO. My porting is setting on a 406 so you don't have to think of porting as being only for big bores.

If you like i can post pic's of mine it's off the bike....if you go to a pro i can get you the hook up with a well known guy......thay do some off the best work out there to day......and if you have a 450r man there the best. Racer's Edge is the name, but just let me know if you need pic's.

i used the dremmel to clean up casting flaws. and some sharp edges in the intake valves where the valve seats are set in place at the factory. in most places the ports were only opened a mill. or so. the exhaust ports i port matched to the size the exhaust crush washers not to the exhaust header itself. as matching up to the header would cause a huge air dam when re installed with a new gasket. as for the sanding it was easier to hand polish the ports with light sandpaper than to use the dremmel. and yes the arse dino noticed a difference. :D but again id still suggest a pro to do your work an f'd head can be expensive to replace.:scary:
