The guy i bought this frame from gave me a cr500 linkage, shock, and swingarm. The swingarms linnkage mount is jogged over to the right,so if i line the swingarm up to the frame, theres no way the shock will line up to the shock mount on frame. The moount on frame is in the center on top.Im wondering if anyone could help me determine if my frame is standard,cr500,or a no link rear?

Post pics, but it is unlikely a CR500 rear.

If it's got a lower rear mount for the linkage, it's a stock link. If it doesn't have one and the rear shock mount is slightly higher, it would be a no-link.

There is a lower mount for linkage. So im assuming if it was a no link frame it wouldnt have a mount for linkage?and if it was a cr500 set-up,the shock mount on frame would be to the right opposed to center of frame,as well as linkage mount on frame?

LRD only made those frames no link or stock link as far as I know. Sounds to me that you have a stock link frame.

Thats what im coming to believe as well, which is fine.It just through me off when i got this frame and the guy told me i had everything i needed to put the back end together, but theres no way that this swing arm, shock, and linkage that he gave me is gonna work on this frame.

That may be true, but you can sell the CR500 link setup for more than what a standard link setup will cost.

You will be money ahead...

Here's my no-link LRD. My upper shock mount is about 2 inches higher than my '89's upper shock mount. It takes a 17.50 inch no-link shock.

http://i256.photobucket.com/albums/hh165/bansheezone/LRD%20300R/CIMG2318.jpg Dude that is what i need to see!It looks a little different then mine at the shock mount.I wish i could take picture but i dont know how to put it on the computer. It looks like your frame still has a linkage mount on botomm or is that something else?I measured from linkage mount to upper shock mount on my frame, and came up with 11&3/4 eye to eye.Can you take measurements off your frames and tell me what you come up with?It would help me out big time!Or tell me some way i can determine how to figure out if its set up for no link or standard.

Very interesting to see the stock lower linkage mount on a "no-link" frame...

In the bottom picture it looks like something is bolted up under the shock mount, is this a lower mount so that you can also run the stock shock and linkage?

The other thing i noticed on my frame is,my upper shock mount is about 1&1/2 lower than my upper sub frame mounts which are welded to each side of the frame.Your upper shock mount looks like it sits higher than your sub frame? As well as, it looks to me like your upper sub frame tabs are somehow bolted on underneath the upper shock mount area?

Meat, thanks so much for the pics. You and i need to keep in touch.Your shock deffently sits higher than mine would,so i would come to believe my frame is a standard style.Ive spent days trying to figure this out.Im trying to order parts, like the swinger at this point.Im starting with this new frame and know nothing about it,so its been a challenge.I really could use your help throughout this build. How do you like your frame? What kind of terrain do you usually ride?

You'll see on the linked frames that the whole upper shock mount billet setup is similar, if not exact, to the no-link mount, its just moved down lower on the frame rails.

The frame is awesome, I have one full year of b-class speed XC riding on it and no failures to report yet. You'll have to do some light fabrication for some brackets and such, but its not too bad. No-link airbox setups are a pain in asss tho.

My shock mount is deffinatly lower, the difference between the billet shock mount is yours looks to have four allen hed bolts going through it,it looks to mount the sub frame tabs on.My billet shock mount set up dont have any bolts,or holes for bolts, and my upper sub frame tabs are welded to the frame rails like the bottom.I need to figure out how to take pictures and put them on this web site so you guys can see this work in progress. Thanks again for the pics meat, that really helped me out.
