I just got my new 400ex last night and everything is great minus one little problem. The left rear tire won't hold air very well. I've already checked and there's no holes in the tire so that's not the issue. The previous owner already tried that slime crap and had no luck. So I'm thinking it must be the bead, but I don't know what how to check and find out for sure. This is mainly because the rims are beadlocks and I'm not familiar with them at all.

Either the bead or the valve stem. Fill up a garbage can with water, pump the tire up and put it in the water..look for bubbles thats where your leak is.

When i do it on my beadlocks i usually find that the bolts need snugged up a bit on the ring.

Windex works better. Fill tire up spray all around it.

If you see no leaks check the valve stem as already suggested. Rim could also be bent and not holding air.

^^^^ yep windex or mix some dish soap in a spray bottle, spray all around the beads, valve stem, actually in the stem.. Also alot of of wheels are 2 piece wheels, I have seen them leak between the 2 wheels sides, as infact a brand new set of ITP wheels I bought leaked.. If that is the case, I would get a new wheel..

I'll give that a shot, I have the feeling it's the bead or the stem like everyone is suggesting. It's an ex race bike so I have the feeling some hard landings might have caused damage. No biggy though.

Oh by the way, Boneless I'm posting the new video today so everyone can see the 400.

If it the valve stem just replace the core. You can get the little tool and cores at any auto parts store for about 8 bucks. It takes all of 5 min to replace all 4.
