My stock bars bent two times now; one by jumping it, and one recently by rolling it, and they are starting to rust some in the middle. I was wandering where can i get some good bars that dont bend easy and are pretty cheap for my 400ex?

Also, what all would i have to do with my reverse and neutral lights? Is it hard to do?
-Thanks

These are what i put on my bike : http://www.motosport.com/atv/product/TURNER-OVERSIZED-BAR-MOUNTS-WITH-TURNER-OVERSIZED-HANDLEBAR-COMBO/?id=108361&sMMY=HONDA;TRX400EX;2008

Fat bars (1 1/8") and clamps for the price of a set of Pro Taper or Renthal 7/8".

i had a set of turner bars, i think they were the carbon steel ones standard 7/8 inch so they fit stock clamps.. Like $25 + shippin also on motosport.com Or you can go to your local atv shop and they have tons of sets for like $30 - $40

One thing about the turner bars i just reccomended were i never rolled my quad, so i dont know how strong they are rolling wise, but they were decent bars for the money.

What i have now is the pro taper contour's but they require oversized clamps, but i like them because they sit nice and low. IMO its easier to keep your elbows up with low bars. Also gives me a better sense of control. its all what you prefer tho. :blah:

Last time i Rolled my bike with the oversized Turner bars , my bars were not bent in the least bit, cant say the same about the cheap stock stem.

As far as the bends and what's comfortable i have the CR High Bend and really like them , they sit low and are comfortable wether your sitting or standing . I would highly recommend them to anybody

Im 6ft tall and 200lbs, I like the protaper se atv hi bends. I have them clocked slightly closer to me.

They have yet to bend, the stems bent 3x now.

i dont think i have ever owned a 400ex (out of the 3 i have had) that had a straight stem.

Never bent any bars tho.

Hey i guess that is ONE good thing about flexx bars. They prolly dont bend easy! haha

The stupid light mount can fit on other makes of bars. Me, I threw that out and drilled holes in the plastic for mine.

Yep, I also drilled holes in my plastic. Drilled 2 in my left fender right next to where the front fender mates to the side panel. It is really scary drilling into good plastic but if you do it right it looks way more badass than having that stock dash piece. I also drilled a hole in my right fender for the key, also pretty badass. I almost just cut the wires for the lights and threw them away, but I like knowing for sure if I'm in reverse or neutral.

Yeah, my plastic is pretty good and i wouldnt like to drill in it but i wouldnt know where my key would go because i had to drill the slot out because i lost the actual key. Now i just use a screwdriver. How did you keep the lights in the plastic?

The lights are simply rubber boots that slide into the plastic with the light inside them. 1/2 drill bit willfix it quick.

Modquad has a fat bar clamp the has the places to put the neutral light and the reverse light. They come in different colors and are not as expensive as you would think. I have Pro-Tapers mid bend and really have enjoyed them. There is one set of Pro-Tapers that are alittle more expensive but they guarteee them. You bend them send them back and they will send you a new pair.

Alright, ill look into that clamp. So your saying if i roll it with protaper bars on, it'll bend my steering stem? How hard would the stem be to bend back?

The steering stem on the 400ex is a sturdy stem. Even if you bend it they are not that expensive. Seems like it was 89.00 plus tax. But you have to really do some hard hits to bend one.

I have had a few dif sets, my last set so far i like the best.. TAG T2's Works very well, is a high bend bar, so it does not tire you out like a lower bend style bar..

stock bars straight up suck. ive got protaper ses 7/8 cr high bend. looks good and a very agressive bend. its comfortable to. more "racey." id suggest fat bars, protaper contours, tag t2's, renthal fatbars, fly aerospaced whatevers(same as protaper or tag i forget) , easton fat bars, trailtech fat bars, all good.
