I have a stock skid plate I tried to put on my 400. Mine is lowered 2" in the rear so I had to cut a notch put for that and then I realized my rear sprocket so it wont let it fit right in the back now. Anyone ever had to modify one if so how did you do it to fit the bigger sprocket or is there a company who makes them for modified bikes

Washers or a spacer of some sort. I have washers under my pro-armor skid right now.

GT Thunder sells a steel skid thats designed with the cutouts for long travel, its only 50 bucks too.

the stock skidplate is junk..they bend SO easily. Better off to buy a thicker aftermarket one instead of making the weak stock one work.

Atleast the 99-04 had metal skids. My 05 came stock with a plastic skid. That lasted me an amazing 2 days before it got the center and edges ripped off and the only thing left was the plastic around where the bolts go in.

well the main problem with the stock metal ones is the rubber that the chains supposed to slide on falls off and then the chain clanks on the metal skid and gets very annoying haha.
