400ex wont start

need some help... i replaced all the jets, new rings,cleaned the carb,and new cam chain.. it was timed correctly to if your wonderin. you can only roll start it it will not start if you crank it over and when it starts it wont idle and from 1/8 throttle to half it cuts out but runs pretty good on top end and fuel /air mix is 2 turns out from seat. any suggestions would be appreciated:confused:

Maybe your pilot jet is off.

i would recheck your valve lash to start with, that will mess with them starting and the idle if they are to tight

it runs now the vavles were to tight but now it ticks so i mite have to re-adjust, i put a new cam chain in her it has to be valves or or chain tensioner wouldnt you think?:huh

well, even if it runs the valves can still be to tight, a lot of times they are tight enough it won't let it start with the Electric start but it will push start. But it's no guarantee that's the problem, just a good starting point
