Started our Yamaha Raptor 125 build last week. Thought I'd share some rough photo's with you. Excuse the messy shop back ground.
We're putting ATV Four Play +1.5 long travel A arms w/ Fox shock on it. Shocks will be here Monday.
Standard length ATV Four Play XC swinger.
Waiting on the laser parts for the stem flag. We just modified to stock one for now. We had to test the right height for a little rider.

Wanted to try and strengthen a very weak point. Thought we'd add a rib gusset.

Very nice. Interested in your build, my daughter races a Raptor 125 in our local XC series. Haven't seen a frame up build on one of these yet, keep posting progress pics...please.

I'm really liking those a-arms. I looked on the ATV4Play site and didn't see them, are they for the Raptor 125 or the Raptor 250? They look like they moved the spindle forward, but it doesn't look like they are any wider, what are the specs on the arms?

Thank you, we didn't put them on our site yet. Because they hadn't been released for sale at the time of this build. We had a bunch of testing to do with the arms and shock combo first.

We finished last weekend testing. We changed the valving in the shocks to a softer ride, and installed a DSC compression adjustment on the fronts. A huge improvement from our first test session.

The A arms are + 1.5" wider and 0" forward.
The spindles are not changed from stock.
This set up COMPLETELY changed to overall handling and control of the quad. Especially for a smaller rider.

I'm still playing around with the ride height.

We ran this weekend in a really rocky and rutted environment at a ride height of 7 3/8 in front and 7" in the rear.

Being new to the youth xc, I'm still struggling with the proper ride height requirement.
Any insight would be helpful.
Thanks,
Tom

Tom,

I didn't realize this was you, I've talked to you on the phone before, you made me some soft bars for my Polaris Outlaw. Great bars BTW.

Anyway, we are still on the stock arms with HLS shocks with a ride height of 7" at the rear front a-arm mount and under the pegs right now. It was a little more that 7" front but my daughter has grown a little since I had the shocks made. She likes the quad the way it is, but doesn't really understand what is possible with new arms. The stock shocks were so bad and she raced them for half a season that she was just so happy with the new shocks. She's jealous of my bars tho.

Hey Tom,

Very nice looking quad, How much more weight does your arms and swing arm add to the quad?

Looking for a swing arm, but haven't had any problems with the stock one yet, need stronger rims and that will increase weight.

Thanks,
Jason

Hi Tom, quad looks great, building 125 right now, what length front shocks do you use. Not sure what a arms I want to use. What is your time frame in building a arms. Have a indoor motorcross race in 2 months. Thanks,Jason

Thanks Jason.
For the 125 XC we are going +1.5" wider per side with a 14.5" Fox shock. (For rider's 65- 140#'s)
But, we have an option of going to a +2 +1/2" and using a 16" Fox Evol.
This is what we are making for the Raptor 250. But IF a rider is 150# on a Raptor 125. They will have the ability to go up the 250 suspension.

IMO some riders on the 125 are a little smaller than those on the 250. Even though the frame 'pick up" points are the same. The rider's are not. So if you widen and makes the bikes longer for a 70# rider vs a 150# rider. The 70# rider is going to have a hell of a time fighting the bike and trying to make it work.

Time frame.....depends on which day you call.
We had 2 sets of 250 and 2- 125 in stock friday. Today....Back ordered for a few weeks. TIS the season.

Here is a pic of the R&D set we finished last week.

I'll be giving you a call this week.

No, these particular arms are for the XC series.
But the MX ones will be a similiar style and using the larger 16" shocks. I see you work with Motowoz, I will be getting my number's to Jimmy ASAP for those. Jim and I have been working lately on some other builds. So I would assume he'll want these numbers to.

I hear ya on what other people and companies are offering. But doing the testing we've done. I think we are going to offer a 125 MX version and a 250 MX version. Unless, we don't find any benifit for them.
I will keep you updated on the MX version.

If you'd like, you can contact me at 330/289-1423 to discuss further.
