So I thought I would share some photos of a project I've been helping with recently. My roommate has a pretty sweet TRX250R that has been sitting in pieces, in a plastic tote for the past four years! He finally decided it was time to put it back together. It is a 265cc "base plate" motor, which means the 88/89 length rod is combined with an .080 over 86 piston, and a 5mm spacer plate beneath the jug. We are utilizing the stock, ported, cylinder, along with a Pro Design Cool Head. Previously, the motor was equipped with a Hetrick Racing 265cc Power Valve Cylinder (I think he is going to sell that).
Parts List:
* Hot Rods Crankshaft '89
* Hot Rods Rod '89
* Wiseco Piston .080 Over '86
* Ported/Polished Cylinder '87
* Pro Design Cool Head
* Pro Design Counter Balancer Bearing Holder
* Barnett Dirt Digger Clutches
* Everything else internally is stock
We still have to throw the top end together, but it's basically complete. I'm not sure when he'll find time to put the engine in the chassis however. Here are some specs on that setup:
Frame: Stock, painted Flo Orange
Plastics: Fullbore Innovations - White
Bars: ProTaper
A-Arms: Lonestar (+3 +1) - Chrome
Front Shocks: PEP ZPS (Triple Rate)
Swingarm: Lonestar (-1) - Hammertone Powdercoat
Rear Shock: PEP ZPS (Dual Rate)
Axle: Lonestar Axcaliber (+4)
Locknut/Hub: Lonestar
Bearing Carrier: Lonestar Double Row
Chain Guide: TM Designworks
Front Bumper: AC Racing
Grab Bar: AC Racing
Nerfs: AC Racing Pro Pegs
Wheels: Douglas Shamrock Beadlocks - Polished
Tires: (F) ITP Holeshot MX6R 20x6-10
Tires: (R) ITP Holeshot MX6R 18x10-8
Anyway, here are the engine photos:
