I have a 07 525 irs and i installed a HID kit and after about 2 rides with the lights on i noticed that the voltage regulator wires started melting. I installed the hids with a relay which they say isnt needed but i wanted to do it he correct way. I am wondering if i just have a bad regulator or if it could be caused by the HIDs, which i thought use less volts and watts to run.
Thanks

HID's are supposed to use less power. I would get out the amp meter and check for current draw on them. Maybe somthing has a partial ground out? Could just be a coincedence that this happened after installing lights...only an amp meter will tell the story
