So let me start out by saying my 400 has been sittin for a yr. It will start up and idle but when i try to get on the throttle it stumbles like it's not getting any gas and if i don't give it any gas it will die when i try to ride. I drained the old gas before i put it in storage. Any help please?

Take the bowl off clean all the jets very good, make sure there is no trash in the bottom of the bowl, I would spay carb cleaner every where I could, also check all the electrical and make sure everything is making a good connection.

No. You have to pull it off. Just take your time. Its real not that hard if your inexperienced. LIke the other guy said, pull the bowl off and remove the jets. Spray carb cleaner in all the orfices and in all the vent tubes. Thats the only way. SOunds like your pilot jet is clogged.
