big bear 400 4x4 problems

2008 big bear, I can engage the 4 wheel drive and all is good. When I try to lock in all 4 wheels the motor cuts out. Any help

I had a guy tell me to just leave it in 4 wheel drive all the time. Based on the speed we travel and the terrain. It should not make much difference

It goes into 4 wheel drive fine, it is just when I lock all 4 wheel in the motor cuts out. I tried to push the over ride button and no help.

i asked and it is a wire most likely that is severed going to your 4 wheel. These things are more electronic now and when a wire is disconnected it can cause these issues. Just like a bad sensor.
