Not too far? It says you're from Alabama! It doesn't get much farther!

Where do you live in Alabama? I'm from Cullman.

KTM's are the best :p

Not just the power, but the small things like changing the air filter, taking the plastics off, the bolts, lots of room to work on the motor, etc. The only stupid thing is changing the oil. Took about an hour to do last night. Of course I was dicking around but still its a pain.

The prices these things are going for right now you'd be stupid not to consider buying one

If you want an LTR why wait untill 2012 or 2013 for a brand new one off the showroom floor. Get a 06,07,08,09 ect.. all the same bike and save some money.

Honda not reliable get at cam am?????:huh That is the worst advice ive heard in a while

If you're looking to build a bike, why would you buy new? You'll save a ton of money building a used bike.

Fact is you can't go wrong with any of them because regardless you're going to have a blast riding whatever you build.

why would buying a can-am be the worst advice? I would say its probably the best advice. Don't knock it till you ride it.

just going off all of the DNFs they have had.. and funny thing when everyone loses their sponsorship they get on hondas.. there is a reason most people are not on can-ams..

I own the 450 Can- am and love it. It is high maintenance like every other 450 out there. The Honda is a great machine too. All of them have their pros and cons. Don't knock a quad you haven't owned or rode.

Like the other guy said screw buying new. I bought my Ltr brand new in 08 and it prob wasnt a good idea. You loose so much money when you buy new. I am actually about to sell my ltr. Its clean and hasnt been riddin a ton. It has spent the last two year in the garage since i am away at college. i maybe ride it once every other month in the yard. It is unmolested basically stock and has never been wrecked. I am located about 2 hours from you as well....Let me know if your interested just thought id throw it out there.

speaking from experience, just find a good ltr or whatever your going to buy that some kid rode and decked it out but never rode it. If you buy new, then you have to spend a boatload on buyin it, and putting the stuff you want on it.

I asked BORICH when the new LTR came out and he said no one on his team has heard anything.. Looks like they are sticking with the 2012 Z 400 for now.

I had an LTR and now have a TRX. Both are awesome machines. I don't really think you can go wrong with any of the new 450s but I love the simplicity of the Honda. It eases my mind knowing how reliable these quads are and that it seems like it is the platform of choice on the pro level (when pros have to actually purchase their own quads w/o sponsorship). The only knock on Honda is the are less race ready from the factory but if you plan on changing everything anyways, that isn't as big of a deal. Good luck with your new quad, which ever you decide on.

Buying new isn't all bad, in fact for the LTR you are actually getting a deal even at retail. The problem with buying used is you have to be really careful who you buy it from. Alot of rider's beat the heck out of them and maintain them like they are a 300ex. So will you not be able to run the LTR in the production classes anymore? If not I wonder if that is behind Lawsons switch.
