Does any one know what parts on a 93 300ex moter will fit on a 87 250x motor? Such as head, cylinder, side cases, ect.
A buddy of mine is wanting to try a put electic start and swap the head and cylinder from the 300 to the 250.
Thanks for any help.

at one time I was trying to put 250x kickstart in a 300ex case with 350x topend. so I could basically have a 350x which I loved with electric start/kickstart backup/reverse. in the end although they look the same there are differences that will cause trouble. I do not believe there is any tru "bolt on" bewteen them. with a friend in a competent machine shop anything could be done. really though putting electric on a 250x seems like alot of work, all i have ever rode kicked over easy enuf.

I was trying to build this hybrid motor of mine and put in a 250x/300ex chassis. 1 ride on a new 400ex changed all that. I went to by a new 400ex but the reverse issue made me almost go 300ex. now I miss reverse with my new 400ex but just cut the wheels and hammer it, :devil youll be pointed the other way quicker then you can use honda's messed up reverse engaement.

The top end on a 300 will bolt right on but the electric starter will
not work on the 250x because the fly wheeles and cranks are different redrider ex

i own a stock 250x and it has more power then the 300ex. i was told the 250x has a more agresive cam and higher compresion piston so i myself would not make that switch to a 300ex head.

The trouble with that is that you will need a
right side case, head, left side case, and fly wheel.
The 300ex fly wheel has teeth on the back of it for the electric starter to turn.
Well if you are really set on doing it its gonna cost you atleast $1,500 for all new parts.

My buddy has a 300ex mottor that had a bearing lock up in the bottom of it so he was going to use the parts to do the switch but wasn't sure if they would switch. Thanks for all the help!
