Just wondering if you guys run guides with your sprocket guards. I have the GT Thunder guard. Ive heard to do so and some also saying not too? Opinions?

I doubt a tm will even fit. I had to trim my poly one to fit

Dirtworks make a nice one for the stock swingarm. It basically the lower rubber piece from a Honda dirtbike chain guide, with a mounting plate they make. It's designed to be ran with the just the outer guard. Nice setup.

I have the dual guard. Will it fit? Also ive heard that the guard acts as a guide itself and thats why you dont need to run one. But also heard that running one help block debris from getting into the chain/sprocket

If you have a dual guard, there's no reason to run a chain guide. Just run the chain at the right tension, and there's no way it's jumping off the sprocket. The newer style GT Thunder dual guards have a relief cut in them to help clear any debris that may accumulate. If anything, I would think the chain guide would make it easier for debris to build up. But I've never run that setup, so I don't know from experience.

In my opinion, the best setup is a Dirtworks chain guide, an outer guard, and the Teixeira Tech rotor/chain guard.

Alright good deal. Thats what I wanted to hear. I'l prob loose the guide as its pretty cluttered up. Maybe pull the inner guard and look into one of those Dirtworks guides your talking about. The inner guard also makes it difficult to adjust the chain which sucks.

This is the set-up Scro is talking about. I've been running it for two years now and have had great luck with it!

No, the fin hanging down that looks like the inner guard, is actually part of the rotor guard and doesn't spin with the axle. You get the protection of the dual guard, without the chance of debris clogging it up.

Off-topic, got anymore pics of the whole bike leev? I've always been partial to orange bikes.

Am I missing something. I checked out the Dirtworks guide and its just the guide. Where does that inner guard come from?

It's part of the Teixeira Tech rotor guard.

And here is a pic of the bike. Thanks for all your help over the years Scro, seems like every time I'm researching something I find information you had posted in the past.
