Well guys, Looks like i'll be shipping out to BASIC and then to AIR ASSAULT school for the 101st Airborne Infantry in early March. Then, my company will be shipping out nearly IMMEDIATLY after Pre-Deloyment training, to Afghanistan. Pretty interesting stuff though, crazy how life takes its twist and turns!!

good luck buddy and thanks for serving. What unit you gonna be with at Ft Campbell?

You will like Air Assualt school. That 12 mile road march (trust me it's a run) is a MF.

If you need somebody to hang with when you get to Ft Campbell give me a holler.

I don't know, i asked the recruiter but he couldn't tell me.

Unless i am confusing Unit with something else??? Again, i don't know all the techincal terms, but i am working hard on them.

101st has 3 infantry brigades. (if your 11b then your infantry)

1st brigade is 327th (no slack)

2nd brigade is 502nd (first stike) I was in D/1st of the 502nd

3rd brigade is 187 (rackasan)

I should have said brigade instead of unit.

If you allready know you are going to Afg. then they should know what unit you will be with

Oh, well in my paperwork it says the 502nd, but my recruiter told me thats its kinda early to really be able to tell.

it could change but who knows. 502nd is a good unit.

Most likely you will get to 20th replacement with severel new recruits and go to Air assualt school then meet up with your unit over seas.

if he is in a pogue unit then yes but trailrider894 is infantry and all three infantry brigades are newer barracks. Rackasons have the newest.

Ft campbell is a pretty good place. Lots of MX tracks near by and LBL has some aswersome trail riding.

Also..my farm is only about 25 miles from Ft campbell...good for an afternoon ride.

Lots of places to ride around here. In a straightline, I'm about 35 miles from Fort Campbell, so lots of helicopters and planes fly over my house.
