I have a 400ex and i was riding in the woods and i hit a mud hole and water splashed on it and it wont start now. if you toggle the killswitch it will fire for a second then die. it just turns over what could be wrong?

first things first, i would change the plug before i did anything else to it.

Then check your wiring and make sure there are no exposed wires that could have been fried when water got on them.. but IMO check the plug/replace it.

If it is not the spark plug what else could it be? The spark plug has alot of carbon on it. I have to go get one. But what else could it be?

Anything that has to do with wiring could cause this, idk my money is that its the spark plug but i would send A PM to CJM or tri5ron they can help you way more than i could

well..if you toggle the KS and it comes on I'd bet you got water in there and shorted something out. Take it apart and check it out.

Check all the electrical connections, but id be willing to bet it got some water in the killswitch as atvkid said.

But seriously start at all the electronics, I sealed all of mine with dielectric grease but vaseline works in a pinch.

I looked at it today and I took the spark plug boot out and the wire wasn't touching the end of the boot so I made it it fired right up. But I also bought this used and so to another question why does it have a 25 amp fuse? Aren't they supposed to be 15

Not sure on the fuse, pretty sure mines a 15..

Yea, they are 15. I'd say someone was having wiring issues if they stuck a 25 in there, or they didn't have a 15 on hand.
