where does this part go?

i have an 01 400ex and its been apart for a few years now...
im in the process of assembeling it and i dont know where this part goes! i dont want to assemble the whole thing and find out i have to disassemble half the quad to install this piece... it was in the bin i put the rest of the parts in so im assuming it goes somewhere on the quad...it looks like some kind of sheild?? i need your help!!

yeah its the stock skid under the engine. i would go ahead and replace it with a good aluminum one unless you want a busted case

alright cool... ill see if i can fit it there... either way i do have an aftermarket undercarriage skid plate so if thats the case then ill just ditch the factory one..

Yeah if you have a aftermarket one there's no use for the stock one.
