this should prob be in the hybrid section but oh well. i might be able to pick up a 250x, or blasterrolling chassis. i can get a cr250 or yz 250 motors to throw in them. will everything line up alright like the sprockets? will it be tuff?

I can promise you it wont be a throw it in, and it lines up.. A lot of fabricating, welding, and patience, with custom parts.

its not gonna just go it and work right if thats what your thinking gonna need to weld mounts and do alot of shimming

youll need to make motor mounts and put in a radiator then if going with a 2 stroke, get the pipe to fit

if you did a TRX i'd put in a 350x engine. this will take lots of welding patience trouble shooting and modification. but if you're up for a project then what the F go for it bro!

boneless, do you think im retarded? ive been researching this for awhile. i need a new project, ive deff got my work cut out for me. ive mainly been looking for an xr200 to play with as a woods bike. but this would replace that whole thing. but if i do start this project, it should keep me busy for awhile. id really like a warrior chassis. theres a blown up warrior right by me for cheap.. theres also this blown up banshee i can get, i dont really wanna do that though because ill get into it and its like 2 of everything and then ill find out the crank bearings are bad blah blah blah.

i'd do the warrior man, go with a YZ engine and sometimes you can use other old 4wheeler 3 wheeler pipes 2 stroke ofcourse. 4 strokes are fun but i know my 2 stroke makes me smile alot bigger and quicker

actually..screw it..golf cart and a moto/atv/snowmobile engine. thatd keep you busy and you could actually use it with a decent set of atv tires.

no where near just a bolt up. first things first is getting the pivot bolt for the frame to fit in the rear motor mount of the motor. second is getting chain aligned, and if its not strait you will just throw chain after chain. after that you can fab up the rest of the motor mounts but still have other factors. next would be installing a radiator if its not a liquid cooled frame and mounting up the exhaust. then the intake needs to be built to work and not hacked. after you get that done the gas tank may have to be mounted a little different or reformed. while doing all of this you have to make sure you dont mount anything so that when you tear it down it gets in a bind or is a major pita to pull out.

IMHO, if your wanting to do this your best bet would be if your going to start with a 250x chassis is to do the 350x conversion. just about everything is a direct swap, i think you will need a 400ex head pipe, and cut a few knotches out on the upper frame rails to clear the head. i know there is a write up on it somewhere.

and if you wanted to go with a 2 smoke then id find a 250r frame and do it that way. because you already have mounts for the radiator, and the 250r geometry is alot better then the 250x/300ex frame

Yeah the money aspect is def true, but I would love for one of those in a trail system with ALOT of hills just have to get used to how much gas to give and when, and learn the breaking

ehh, well you do bring up a good point, mud might be a problem, but with watter i dont think thats an issue people ride in rain all the time with them on motorcycles with no ill effects, so puddles i dont think would bother it, doing lake skimming might lol, but thats an extream
