Replacing oem kill tether with Pro Design DRR90

Finally tracked my issue to the oem kill switch. Found a Pro Design tether but need some info. Both leads on the pro design are black. Oem wiring is one black and ine with a runner. I have tried both combinations loosely with no luck.

What am I missing??

one needs to go to a SOLID ground(no paint) and other goes to cdi.

From Gary, the oem kill switch is a closed loop. Just connect the two bullet connectors together and it is done.
