I KNOW THIS HAS BEEN RAN OVER, PISSED ON, SCOUPED UP, BURIED OUT IN A FIELD, DUG UP BY A DOG, THEN THREW BACK OUT INTO THE ROAD TO BE RAN OVER BY A SEMI, BUT I COULDNT FIND ANYTHING ON THIS SITE ABOUT IT....

PART NUMBER WW-HC GB NO:43

I GUESS THATS THE PART NUMBER

WHAT STAGE IS IT?? I LOOKED IN THE STICKYS AND COULDNT FIND ANYTHING,
THEN I TYPED HOTCAM IN THE SEARCH BOX AT THE BOTTOM AND NOTHING POPPED UP ABOUT PART NUMBERS, BUT I REMEMBER SEEING AT LEAST 3 POSTS ABOUT THIS

SORRY FOR MAKING YOU SAY THIS AGAIN

I AM JUST REALLLLY HOPING ITS A STAGE 2

i dont know for sure but that doesn't sound like a hotcam # at all and most hot cams have there name stamped on it in many spots

I just got home and checked the stage 2 cam on the bench... WW-HCFB NO:43 is stamped on it. I called them a few weeks ago, gave them the number and they told me it was a stage 2 for any year 400ex.

OH AND ALSO,,,

MY PISTON IS IN FAIR CONDITION EXCEPT FOR LITTLE DENTS ALL OVER IT, NOT REAL BAD BUT WHEN I BOUGHT THIS QUAD IT HAD A BLOWN HEAD GASKET (AND BOY IT WAS LIKE GONE.)

COULD THE LITTLE INDENTIONS IN THE TOP OF MY PISTON BE FROM PIECES OF THE HEADGASKET?

THE DUMB*** THAT OWNED IT BEFORE ME RODE IT WITH THE HEADGASKET LIKE THAT, AND HE KNEW IT WAS BLOWN.

(just to show you how big of a jackass he was ill tell you what he told me.. he said that the only diff. between a 400ex and a 450r is the plastic...??? i was like really dude..) LOL!!

Possible.

Id check the bore for size and buy a new piston imho, one that looks like a rat chewed it isnt good.

supposed to be a 426 but after talking to the guy, its hard telling what it is.

Ill prolly go 426 11:1

seems to be a preferred choice especially with my stage 2 hotcam

I would not order anything till you can verify what ya got in there first if I were you.

Cause if its a 426 and its already out of spec you can bore anymore. Its either 440 or go back to stock and bore the size you want or keep it stock.

dumb question, how exactly do i go about checking to see what it is?

Not much of a 440 fan.. if anything i will buy a new sleave and bore to 416 like my old one... i loved it

Need an inside micrometer and a caliper to measure it (well makes it easier).

A machine shop can do it.
