Well just considering sell the old girl... Its just to much money, and i've takin a liking to dirt bikes a little more than quads... The mods are below... Comes with one extra set of tires, and some stock parts. Its been completely rebuilt including engine as of about 7hrs of riding ago.

ha ha thanks... I'm gonna try to get some new pics of it this weekend.... I want to spend more money on it, or make it a hybrid, but I am a broke college student, and i can easily get a dirt bike and make it 100% race ready for the amount of money it would take to get this thing even ready to race in C Class...

Thats my favorite one on this site . I would say its worth about $3500 to the right buyer on craigslist and probably more on ebay. I know you have way more into than that but you will never be able to get all your money back out of it.

4 at the absolute most, Id say you will get between 2700-3500 more than likely.

Thats kinda what i was thinking... its so hard to make that decision... I mean i love my quad... I would say it handles better than any quad i've ever riden. It's like its on rails or something.. It needs a good refresher on the engine, but there's just no money to do anything... why keep it if i can't afford to keep it running... :( Besides, its looking like i'll shipping out for the ARMY in January...

Well i got some stuff figured out, and my doctor made a phone call and they said i was good to go... So i started the process, and the recruiter said i would ship off most likely in january or late spring.

GL with the Army!

I mean keeping it isnt pointless, but if your not home or stationed somewhere you can ride I can understand. Still, you just wont get the cash out of it that you put into it and imho thats a big factor in selling things like this.

Yeah, i know... That is the big issue... I have no clue were i will get stationed, i don't have a truck to haul it, and where would i store it anyway??

i think some people here have very high hopes of what 400's are worth nowadays.. i would be very happy with 2300. is it still on the stock bore and piston? its a nice quad, but in reality it's still a 2000 400ex with mid level a arms and shocks. anything above 3k and buyers are easily in 450 range.

Thats kinda what i had been thinking... I think i'd probably make more money by parting it out than i would just sellin it..

do you have the stock stuff? if so, sell everything aftermarket you can, and sell the 400ex as close to stock as you can. you'll avoid the headache of a part out and you'll maximize your profit from the sale. i have every single stock part i have ever taken off for this very reason.

I want a bike too, but It'd be a 125 2 stoke.

The cost of rebuilding those 250's is substantially higher than your 400. especially when they granade like a modern day racing engine..

From what i've read, they are more problematic than the 450's because you have to pound the snot out of them.

and a 2 stroke is so much fun! :D

yep, 2000 400ex

gotta think its almost 13 years old since it was probably sold in 1999
I mean you can go buy a brand new 400ex and as soon as you get home with it off the lot, put it on craigslist and hope to get 4 out of it.

Just the way things are, i had trouble selling my 03 400ex with a rebuilt motor, it just needed tires and all i was asking was 1500 obo

Buyers on craigslist make me angry because they want top $ stuff but they dont wanna pay anything for it.

Maybe its just my luck with selling stuff but nothing ever goes my way... always end up parting out/trading

I already own a KX250, with a High Comp Piston, V-Force Reeds, etc... ITS MEAN, but its way more fun than anything else i own... I would buy a 450f probably.

GL with the army, If your only going to sell it cause you dont know when you cant ride it, id keep it, with the army you will be getting $$ soon just Put it in a shed or have a GOOD friend look after it for you when you are gone. that what im doing now/when I leave. thats a nice machine id be sad if I sold that.

There is a seat for every arse.

I sold basically an engine/trans in a beat to hell 87 toyota 4runner. Rest of it was basically rotted out and I got 650 bucks. Not really to shabby but the trans had unknown miles and the engine was last rebuilt about 120k ago. Rest of it was barely being held together.
