So I finally got around to looking for a set of stock 450r shocks for the old ex, but ended up picking these up.

Now I know a lot of people don't like works, but I couldn't bring my self to shell out $300 (a nice set that isn't beat up or bent)for a set of stock honda shocks. Are works really as bad as people say? They have to be better than stock.

Ride them and see how smooth the ride is and adjust them to want you want. I don't think you did wrong in the price.

for the price, you did good, and they will certainly ride much better, and are more adjustable than the stockers.
Plenty of guys here have, or have had, the Works shocks, and are happy with them.

I even have Works springs, on my 450r shocks. Love 'em !

You did good, and I'm sure you will see a big improvement in your ride.
add a Steering Stabilizer to the receipe, and you will be in "Hog Heaven".

A stabilizer is on the list, but so are some +2's. I can't decide what I want first. For some reason I decided it would be a good idea to buy a new pick-me-up truck, so either way I will probably have to wait lol.
