I race the NECC up in new england wondering what size tire and brand you recommend. Ive been looking online and most gncc tires are 21 fronts and 20 rears but thought 23 fronts and 22 rears were better give me some input. also what type of rims was either thinking douglas xc champion in box or hipers

run 20' razr rears and 21-22' razr 2 fronts. Best combo ever.

22' drag out power and acceleration.

a cheaper route to go is GBC race rex rears and GBC xrex fronts

be sure to get 6 ply whatever you get and just to be sure you can go to wal mart and get little inflatable balls to put in your tires in case a tire gets puntured you can keep going without doing any damage

Same as tires balls but dirt cheap.

Oh also, many XC guys run hiper, but i dont like them..

I would go douglas all day because they are alot lighter and cheaper for the most part.

I disagree. Hipers are the way to go. I run 20 inch razr rears, and 21 inch razr 2 fronts. Look at the pro and pro am lines. Theres a reason these tires are so popular.

correctly used hipers are the best and can take a severe beating and still look and function perfectly
tires 20''razr rears
fronts i run 22''
for rocky stuff razrs2's have a wider contact patch
for dirt itp gncc's a narrower profile cuts better and tracks better

Another cheap alternative to tire balls is using pool noodles, you know the 6' piece of stryofoam you always hit the kids with at the pool.

You can cut them to fit the tires and they are pretty darn cheap, too. Never tried it personally, but have heard good results from it/them.

dont get me wrong there is no doubt that hipers are great, because they are carbon fiber not fragile aluminum, i just dont like how much they weigh and the price

hipers double beadlock, holeshot xc pulled 10 holeshots in the worcs series last year. not a single flat.
