just take it apart and cut each part individually. make sure you measure 2x and cut 1x lol its hard to get the aluminum back without the proper stretcher tool and they are big money!

What kind of blade and saw should be used?

the right one lol

if i had access to a band saw that would be the first thing i would use. that will be the cleanest cut.

plasma cutter would also be nice to cut it with

sawz all would be last but get a metal cutter blade and start cutting

take the outside canister off and cut the back of that, the core insert will have to be cut from the end in if yours comes apart like the rest do.

drill new holes where needed and put it back together.

id go band saw then, i think the chop saw would be a bit much for the thin aluminum material of the outside canister.

just my thoughts though, let us know what you decide to use.

For a nice straight cut.....Wrap a piece of WIDE masking tape around the cannister.

The tape will wrinkle if it's not on straight.....Great simple tip for getting a perfect end

I've used a hack saw with a metal blade and then just used a file and made it purdy. This was on a cr85 pipe
