Buzzing sound front sprocket

Hey guys,

I bought a 2007 400ex with only around 10hrs of run time so it was in good condition. But i noticed when you get into second gear you can really hear a buzzing sound from the front sprocket. I lubed it up and it seem to be alot less loud. I was wondering if this was a normal sound just from the chain making contact with the teeth? Sorry im really new to the 400ex

It's normal. Mine does it also, and it's really loud all the time. I think it makes contact with the plastic case saver and that's what is making most of the noise. I need to get an aftermarket one to see if it will make it go away. But yeah, I wouldn't worry about it.

Yea, your sprockets and chain make sounds.. I've noticed more they get worn more you can hear them. It's normal. What's very bad is when you ride a gear or 2 high on a 2 stroke bike.. the chain jumps and rattles and sounds like your tearing your rear end off! hah
