i would say dwt. i have seen some hipers break. not a lot but some. i have never seen a dwt break. but either one is a good choice

at times im rough on rims, and I like to be able to pound out a dent, instead of breaking them...Ive never used anything but aluminum, but friend have used all types with mixed results,

I like to have the least amount of unsprung weight, and sometimes that itself has its durability problems...

but the 160 dwt seam to hold there shape good and can be straightened up with a hammer pretty good, and are one of the lightest rims compared to strength that Ive used,

the 190 dwt are real tough but a little heavy,

and the 125 dwt are as light as a feather but bend real easy,

I personally have never had a tire come off the rim, but have had many side wall punctures...

i would guess a lot depends on were and what type of riding terrain you do the most, if you do a lot of power slides then a bead-lock is the way to go,

if soft sand then a 125 or 160 dwt, depending on if you jump a lot

and for basic rocky trails, i would go with a 190 dwt, but that's your decision, I use 160's but they do bend now and then!

Hiper. I use the double headlock. You will deffiniitely know when you need beadlocks. I lost the world mx open c championship due to tire combing off bead 2 days in a row. You can't pound out dents but won't get any. Running them for bout 10 years. Only ruined when someone used a car tire machine improperly. Then you only have to get the price not the whole thing.

if your running beadlocks i don't think you will have dents. for xc you can't go wrong with either one. just buy the one's you think look better. lol

All the guys i race with run hipers, but for me i think the price was a little steep, i bought the DWT champion in a box WORCS set. it has 2 ROK-OUT front non-beadlocks, which are by far the strongest non-beadlocks ive ever seen, ive beat them to death with out a single dent, just small scuffs, and the 9'' G2 rear single beadlocks, which have been good to me so far. I got the whole set for $450, then i purchased as set of 4 brand new Race Rex for $300. So i got rims and tires for $750 where just a set of Hipers alone will run u at least that.

HiPers are well worth it, plus they can be rebuilt if they break or crack.
