What are the best trail riding mods for the money?

Where we ride a-arm guards, belly pan and swing arm skids are a must. We ride the mountains of East Tennessee,Kentucky and West Virginia. To me after that a slip-on to let that motor breathe.

I ride the trails in wisconsin with no rocks or anything. I got an exhaust and rear tires. I will probly get nerfs soon.

Aftermarket/450 shocks, good tires, I dont know much about steering stablizers but am reading they are a great thing to have not really just for trails but cant go wrong with a sparks +6 key.

good 6 ply tires would be on the top of my list, then comfortable bars, skids, shocks, nerfs (depending on where you ride) then, you can start looking at performance stuff.

After riding for a few years without one, I now wish I would have put a steering stabilizer on right after I purchased the quad. Now I can ride the trails much more to my liking and my hands don't take such a beating.

x2 with mike.

bars, tires, nerfs, bumper, and shocks would be on my list of stuff to get first. that usually is my list of stuff to get first when i buy different machines.

thats tough personal preference plays a big role.

i like my tag t2s along with alot of others but they arent for everyone. they are a bit wider and have a bit less angle back than the stock bars.

renthals and tags are pretty good bars though

For "Trail Riding" you've already received some solid advice for accessories/mods.
I whole heartedly agree with the full skids, 6 plys, nerfs, shocks, stabilizer, and a good strong bumper.

I would also add to the list, some good wrap-around hand guards, and possibly a headlight guard.
(rocks, and branches can do a number on headlights, and knuckles, LOL!).

A six-pack rack is nice for carrying some drinks and lunch.
There is also a style called "out'n'back", that holds a six-pac cooler, and a 1 gallon gas can. (a little pricey, but pretty cool idea).
A tank bag is nice for carrying some stuff, and a hydration backpack is a must have.

If the trails you ride are often crowded, then some sort of strobe is a good idea to help avoid a head-on collision.
The cheapest and easiest way to do that, is the LED bicycle headlights, with a flashing function.
($7 bucks at Harbor Freight), or, check out my in progress mod, of the headlight housings.

For Greatly improved night riding, HID upgrades are very popular, and don't break the bank.
(hopefully, I'll get mine installed tomorrow... Yea!!!)

then,... of coarse,... comes all the fun performance mods.

enjoy your quad, have fun with the mods and accessories, and ride safe.
