Accent Colors..

Hey guys.. I have a 1998 Suzuki RM250 and I am looking to do a cosmetic rebuild this winter (being I have done a tune-up rebuild last winter) .. of course I will still replace worn parts but my main goal it to make er' perty! :)

This is my question: What would look better against my bike, red or deep blue accents? Shoot me some idea's as well on frame colors, hub colors, etc. I'd like to keep it clean (no graphics) and my yellow plastic. Let me know!

what the hell is up with those forks

Suzuki changed it around for a few years and made them a conventional-type forks vs. inverted and it turns out those are the best factory forks produced for trail riding. I am very happy with them! They are very smooth though the rocks/roots yet I can turn the corner and jump a table and they soak it up great! They do look different, but like I said I am very happy with them.

yah 96-98 ran those forks with goofy guards. Those years worked amazing in trails, but didn't do so hot on the track. Suspension was very soft and flexy and worked great for trails but didn't soak up big hits worth a damn. Black looks good on anything. Black wheels and maybe an off color hub (red/blue). First thing I'd do is something with the tank. Looks out of place. I used to have a 97 rm. I did end up finding some graphics on ebay that weren't too bad looking, but sounds like you might go the cleaner route.

find a way to get the tank bllack, thatd improve it bunches. im thinking maybe a white frame, or like a metallic grey. and ive always liked the looks of having anodized hubs and little parts.

Thinking practically:

Getting the tank black-
It's clear for a reason, it makes it very very nice on the trails.

Black plastic-
It would scratch and scuff up too much the first time out, I ride alot of tight trails, lots of jiggers! lol

Graphics on the gas tank-
If I can find a 'calm'-type tank graphic, I may.. but it's hard to find anything for this year bike.

White frame-
Okay for motocross, but for off-road I'd never ever be able to keep it clean and looking good, the matallic gray may not be so bad to be honest..

Hey guys.. the main things I'm asking is: what color accents would go good with my bike? Say random anodized blue parts, red parts? Red, Blue, Grey, Yellow, Orange, Black frame? etc

put on some handguards! i just put some acerbis and protapers on my 125 and gonna try em out this weekend. get those in black, black rims and tank and i think you'd be looking good man. throw some numbers on the number plates!

I have the bark busters.. I will be adding shields though! I can't tell you how many times those have absolutly saved my hands from being crushed!!

oh yeah my bad now i see em haha, but yeah add some shields and it would look great! i about smashed my hand into a tree and said eff this im putting handguards on my MX/trail bike haha.

I like numbers too.. someone pick me out a sweet 2 digit number (NOT 69). hah Look at my bike once more, should I do a black background with white numbers (like finsteratv) or keep the white backgrounds and use black numbers?

Get a set of preprints made. I think RMATV does them for pretty much any bike from the 90's up. IMO if you're going to do numbers it's the way to go. If you don't want numbers, you can still get the preprint. It adds something to the bike.
