Ok so i found this badas* 426ex on craigslist and i am going to buy it.

He says that "the lower headgasket has a break in the right side of it and it loses compression, and leaks a little bit of oil.."

I didnt think the gasket under the jug (i am assuming thats what he means by the lower headgasket because there shouldnt be any oil getting by the headgasket right?) should have anything to do with compression.

But he did say on the right side and thats where the timing chain is.. Idk i just wanted to get a 2nd or 3rd opinion on this.

And when i replace this gasket (going to go ahead and buy a top end gasket kit) will i have to go ahead and replace the timing chain?

Thanks guys.

you wont have to unless its streched out but if you have the extra cash it would be a good idea

Since its apart I would send it out and get the gtt head studs installed. I have a 426. 13.1. It's fast. It's alot faster then my 416 11.5.

Google cometic and call them they make to order gaskets. And if u buy the studs off your friend. They have to be installed at the right hight. If u don't send your jug to gtt. There is instructions on there web site
